Team GB reaches semifinals at Red Deer

It's good to see Eve Muirhead and her team of Jackie Lockhart, Kelly Wood, Lorna Vevers, with alternate Karen Addison, doing well in their ventures abroad this season. Team GB competed in the Red Deer Classic this weekend. I was following the results here. The team won their first three games before a loss to Canadian Champion Jennifer Jones put them into the B Road. There they won two more matches to qualify for the quarterfinals. They won that this morning, but then encountered Jennifer Jones again in the semifinals. That's the scoreline above - an extra end loss. Good competition for the women though. I think a 'well done' is certainly in order.

The Muirhead rink can be seen in action in the first rounds of the Columba Cream Scottish Ladies Curling Championship at Curl Aberdeen, November 19-22. Their first opposition is Sarah Reid's team at 8.30 pm Thursday, November 19 (see here).
