News from Sweden

I've always been a big fan of Sweden's Peja Lindholm, and I was saddened when he announced his retirement from the game in 2007.

Today's news is good though. Hakan Sundstrom, the Secretary General of the Swedish Curling Association, has been in touch to say that Lindholm, a three time world champion (1997, 2001, 2004) and double European champion (1998, 2001) is the new National Coach of Sweden.

Lindholm has agreed with the Board of the Swedish Curling Association to work full time for the next four years. He will work with the Swedish National Teams, and also in junior development and education.

Lindholm is 40 years of age, and will be based at his home in Ă–stersund.
